Fishing in Holland has been ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. We’ve experienced some of the best fishing we’ve had in a LONG time.
Saturday 4/23 we boated 29 fish! 20 lake trout, 2 King salmon, 2 Brown Trout, 1 Steelhead and 4 Coho salmon. Our clients landed the elusive, “Lake Michigan Grand Slam!!”
We began fishing, and spent most of the day in 30-50 feet of water. Yakima spin n glo’s paired with several Angler’s Avenue custon tin cans, Big weenie flies, and various brands of spoons did most of the damage. 100, 125 and 150 feet of Morgan’s copper were by far our best rods! We later trolled from 50 feet of water, out to 130. From 100-130 we landed our coho on Big Weenie flies, paired with Angler’s Avenue custom spin doctors, and various magnum spoons 40-60 feet down.
Fishing in Holland does not get any better than it was this past weekend! We expect very good fishing to continue for the next couple weeks, as typically the end of April and first couple of weeks of May can be some of the best fishing of the year.
