Lake Michigan Charter Fishing in June has been very good in Holland! We’ve experiences one of the best months of June fishing in several years! Early in the month cold water blew into the shore. We were targeting steelhead for the first two weeks! We were taking between 20 and 30 steelhead bites every day! These fish were an absolute blast, jumping numerous times before making it to the boat!
Now that the water has warmed up, our lake trout fishing is beginning to really take off! We’re now seeing larger catches of lake trout, mixed in with King Salmon.
Most recently fishing have been in 80-110 feet of water south of Holland. Yakima Spin n Glo’s have been killer on the downriggers and divers. Big weenie flies have been taking our salmon on 125, 150, 200, 225 feet of Morgan’s copper. We’re pairing the flies with several different 8″ Dreamweaver spin doctors.
Spoons are also taking fishing, the majority being steelhead. We’re catching our steelhead on Mini Silverstreaks. Double Dutch, Pink Panties and Mixed Veggie. Also, Magnum Silverstreak Jerry Lee has been very good.
Fishing will only continue to improve as we get into the month of July!
